River of Art Festival Returns in 2025 to celebrate Creativity and Community
The River of Art Festival is back in 2025, once again shining a spotlight on the vibrant arts and creative culture of the South Coast, while celebrating the beauty of our environment.
Running from Friday 26 September to Monday 6 October, the Festival promises an inspiring mix of exhibitions, open studios, live performances, workshops, and more.
Building on Success
Now in its 21st year, the Festival continues its mission to foster artistic expression, support local talent, and deliver engaging creative experiences for all. The 2024 Festival featured:
✅ 50 open studios and exhibitions
✅ 15 workshops
✅ 10 live music events
✅ A literary gathering
✅ Record entries for the River of Art Prize
With over 15,500 attendees and an estimated $30.2 million boost to the local economy, the Festival is a major cultural and economic highlight for the region.

Festival organisers are busy curating an unforgettable program featuring beloved highlights alongside fresh new experiences. Expect a dynamic mix of:
- The much-loved Arts Trail, stretching from Durras to Bermagui, showcasing artist studios, galleries, live performances, and local tourism gems.
- The prestigious River of Art Prize, spotlighting exceptional artistic talent.
- A dedicated Creative Hub, offering exhibitions, workshops, night markets, and live music.
- An Artist Retreat, with featured works exhibited during the Festival.
