From Historic Stables to a Vibrant Artisan Village
The Artisans Nest began in January 2012 in the historic township of Bodalla, charming visitors for twelve years from a cosy cottage and later the historic Bodalla Stables. In March 2025, the collective opened an exciting new chapter by relocating to the Clocktower Arcade in Mogo, weaving itself into the town’s vibrant artisan identity with a larger, light-filled, and deeply welcoming gallery space.
Meet the Makers Behind the Craft
What truly sets the Artisans Nest apart on the regional arts circuit is its purely communal heart. Operated entirely as a collective, the gallery is always staffed by one of the resident creators. This offers visitors an authentic opportunity to converse directly with the makers—whether discussing the intricacies of shibori dyeing, the patience of woodturning, or the inspiration behind an artwork.
The Collection
Every piece displayed within the gallery is strictly original and handcrafted—mass production has no home here. Because the collective continuously evolves, visitors will always discover an ever-changing collection of:
• Wearable art and textiles
• Designer leather goods
• Jewellery
• Original art
• Original cards
• Home decor
• Unique ceramics
• Milliner-made hats
• Vintage fabric purses
• Quirky clothes and other items made from vintage blankets
• Recycled window glass garden mosaics
• Handmade children’s clothes
• Local timber products
Whether you are seeking an affordable, heart-made souvenir, a distinctive gift, or a premium statement piece for a private collection, The Artisans Nest is an authentic celebration of regional ingenuity.
