Born in Bega, Cheryl has lived her life on the south coast, her mother’s families are the Walbunga people from the Moruya area and the Ngarigo people in the Snowy Mountains region. Cheryl’s artwork encapsulates south coast culture and stories, depicting local Dreamtime stories is a way to express her love for country and culture.
Cheryl’s works on paper and prints are of an exceptionally high standard and marry contemporary style with inspiration from local stories, landscape and nature.
Her work has been acquired by both the National Gallery of Australia and the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
Cheryl is now opening her own boutique Gallery in Narooma which she has named Garraywaa Gallery to exhibit her own working curate shows for Aboriginal local and regional artist.
