At Sea On A Mountain

Tom’s spare, beautifully economical drawings carry a curious tension that feel ancient and contemporary at once. Part observation, part dream, part imagined mythology. Presented on board with oil pastel and re purposed hardwood timber floor boards as frames. An exhibition not to be missed for it creativity, if anything!

At Sea On a Mountain brings together drawings pulled from Tom’s sketchbooks between 2019 and 2026, presented as classroom chalkboards.

Tom’s way of seeing the world is wide and curious. His drawings remind us that the world is, in fact, our classroom, there is always something to learn, notice or wonder about.

So why a chalkboard?

There is something wonderfully unprecious about it: a place where ideas can appear, disappear, change and begin again. Tom’s drawings sit somewhere between a lesson, a daydream and a thought that arrives while you’re supposed to be paying attention.
