The 2019 River of Art is inviting South Coast artists to enter their work in this year’s festival art prize.
The art prize, which is a highlight of Eurobodalla’s annual festival celebrating the rich artistic life of the region, will be announced on the eve of the festival’s opening, Thursday 16 May.
The winning artist will receive $2,000 with $250 going to the runner up. The artwork most highly commended will be awarded $100. Finalists will be selected by a panel of judges comprising three well-known professional artists.
Shortlisting will be done on the basis of a digital image of the artwork.
The award ceremony will be held at Narooma’s SoART Gallery where all finalists will be exhibited. Artists whose work was not shortlisted will be invited to exhibit their submitted artwork in the Salon de Refusés at Narooma’s School of Arts’ studios. Both exhibitions will run from Thursday May 16 through to Sunday May 26, 2019.
Artists have until 11.59pm, Saturday April 20 to submit their entries. There are three ways in which artists can submit their work. The preferred option is to complete and submit electronically the online application form.
Alternatively, download a PDF version of the online application form and complete your details. Hard copy forms are also available at the Libraries in Batemans Bay, Moruya and Narooma. Scan and email (including digital images) to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Entries can also be posted to River of Art/ Art Prize, PO Box 117 Bodalla NSW 2545. If posting, you will need to include your digital images on a CD or on USB Thumb Drive (Memory Stick). The cost of entry is $20 per work.
