I create mixed media works that combine paint with materials such as magazine clippings, tissue paper, lace, shells, and found photographs. Layering and blending are central to my process: edges are softened, boundaries are obscured, and textures overlap to create surfaces that invite the viewer to look closely. The works vary in scale and subject matter but are connected by a focus on detail, repetition and harmony through contrast.

Alongside painting and collage, I also work in video, often exploring transitions and dissolves between images. Across mediums, my interest lies in how materials, colours, and images shift when placed together, and how meaning can emerge from these layered in-between spaces.

My work will be exhibited in the Offshore Moruya windows for the duration of River of Art 2025. I also make commissions using your own choice of family photos, themes, scale and colours. They make great gifts and are a way to showcase and preserve your family photos. Contact me at tessa.muskett@gmail.com for more info.
