Lately, I have been wood-turning hoop pine marine ply at the maximum diameter possible on my lathe (910mm).
Plywood was never meant to be wood-turned, but the various beautiful exposed layers defined by the black glue lines make it worthwhile. Carving with the hand-held router then reveals further compelling patterns.
