Mane & Tales Studio is a hair salon and exhibition space in the heart of Bermagui, combining Elise Idiens’ 25 years of hairdressing with her love of art, photography and community. The studio regularly presents exhibitions by local and visiting artists, creating a space where people can come in for a haircut, discover an exhibition or simply have a look at what’s on the walls.
Since opening the gallery program, Mane & Tales has presented a range of exhibitions spanning painting, photography, textiles, sculpture and First Nations art. The space is deliberately informal – part working salon, part gallery – with the aim of making contemporary art feel accessible and part of everyday life in Bermagui.
