Hugh Brown is a comic writer of books and poetry and also a comic performer. Hugh has performed his work on ABC Radio, in schools, cafes, galleries and theatres. To see Hugh “hard at it”, please follow this link.
Hugh initially studied drama and theatre direction at Flinders Drama Centre, worked in the theatre and subsequently as a drama teacher before finally going on the international stage as a diplomat.
Hugh has also created a video show, ‘The Virtual Animal Life’. It’s a comic poetry performance by ‘human’ avatars who variously recite Hugh’s animal poetry (see YouTube video links). ‘The Virtual Animal Life’ creates a unique, virtual comic presentation highlighting the inter-dependencies and intricacies of modern animal life – our own included.
