REVIVE 2020 saw five murals painted live.
REVIVE 2020 was curated and led by professional artists Tim De Haan (Phibs) who has a long connection to the region through family ties in Narooma. The murals celebrated the strength, vitality and beauty of our communities in the wake of the devastating summer bushfires.
Funding was courtesy of the Eurobodalla Disaster Relief Fund established by Eurobodalla Shire Council to support the community in recovery. The murals are an enduring community asset and celebrate our favourite places.
River of Art partnered with the Business and Tourism Chamber in Batemans Bay and the Business Chambers in Moruya and Narooma for the painting of four murals. The fifth was created in partnership with the Narooma Oyster Festival at the site of their annual event.
Artists
Artist’s details can be found on our website. Each has been specially commissioned for the location and will create a unique artwork for their specific site.
Tim De Haan (Phibs) has been prominent in the Australian Street art scene for 30 years and his work can be found throughout Australia and internationally. Tim will be curating REVIVE, working across the project, and will also be working on two murals in Narooma. Tim has designed and will paint the Lighthouse Surgery building mural. He will also work with renowned indigenous artist Cheryl Overton who has designed the second Narooma mural which will celebrate the indigenous importance of Wagonga Inlet, Gulaga and the rock oyster as a source of food. Tim has worked with Cheryl before, on the mural at Narooma Swimming Pool.
