Fifteen years ago, the River of Art festival was launched by a small group of enthusiastic artists who volunteered their time to create a week-long celebration of creativity in our region.
Now a registered not for profit Association, the River of Art has won awards, been recognised by Destination NSW and is supported by the Eurobodalla Shire Council as one of only two annual Hallmark events in the shire.
The festival runs for 10 days every year and includes over 120 individual events in communities from Durras in the north to Bermagui in the south. It is a non-curated, umbrella event, contributed to by arts organisations and individuals from within and beyond the region. Every year it grows in diversity.
In 2020 the festival moved from Autumn to Spring and while it is a well patronised festival, the Committee also aims to support and promote the arts through the year and intends to expand its program beyond its annual festival.
The River of Art festival committee and volunteers are passionate about the creative arts, recognising the contribution the arts make to our social fabric, attracting visitation and supporting our economy.
If you are interested in joining our committee or being part of the troop of fabulous volunteers who turn out once a year to help out during the festival, please register with us here and we will be in touch.
