Time to hurry your entries for River of Art Festival 2019

River of Art Festival, you only have two days to go before the deadline to register your interest.

You might want to host your own event, workshop or performance. Or perhaps you’re interested in showing your art as part of the Art on Parade in a local business or shopfront. Whatever it is, you’ll need to submit your Expression of Interest form to the festival organisers by this Friday (1 February).

This year’s River of Art Festival runs from 17 to 27 May. Most events will be held on the two weekends bookending the festival with the final weekend coinciding with Canberra’s Reconciliation Day long weekend.

Now in its 14th year, the festival brings together artists from all types of disciplines including painting, jewellery and woodwork through to poetry, music and film. It features over 100 events including Open Studios, music events, art prizes, poetry and a trail of art stretching from Durras to Bermagui.

“This is a festival, organised by the community for the community. It’s a showcase for our wonderful artists and gives them an opportunity to share with the rest of us and visitors from outside the shire their extraordinary work,” said Robin Scott-Charlton, co-chair for the festival. “We expect to release this year’s program well before Easter in April. Like previous years, we will have a fabulous lineup of activities. There’ll be performances, exhibitions and music gigs, art prizes and workshops. And this is going to happen up and down the Eurobodalla coast – a real and vibrant river of art,” said Di Jay, Robin’s fellow co-chair.

River of Art is supported by the NSW Government through Destination NSW and by the Eurobodalla Shire Council.
