Open Studios

Meet the artists and experience the magic of a working studio. You’ll discover paintings, pastels, sculptures, woodcarvings, photography, textiles, mosaics, jewellery and so much more that you can purchase directly from the creator.

Art on Parade

Another festival favourite, Art on Parade brings delightful pop-up galleries to life all over Eurobodalla as artists showcase their works in local shopfronts and cafés.

Festival highlights

Festival opening at the Basil Sellers Exhibition Centre

Join us for the River of Art festival opening and launch of the inaugural “River of Dreams” exhibition. Archibald prize and multi-award winning artist Wendy Sharpe will open the festival while attendees enjoy live music and refreshments. All welcome!

River of Art Prize Exhibition & Salon De Refusés

This exhibition, hosted on behalf of the River of Art festival, is an annual highlight with entries judged by a recognized panel of artists. Prizes will be awarded at the exhibition opening.

Kinema Kabaret: Burlesque Circus Cabaret

Roll up in your vintage best for a fast moving, spectacular and witty night of cabaret, burlesque, music, circus tricks and fringe festival fun. Fire twirling starts at 6pm. Enjoy a pre-show cocktail at the Ocean Lounge at The Whale Inn or supper in the restaurant afterwards. This one is for adults only.

Artist in Conversation: Wendy Sharpe at The River

Meet Wendy Sharpe, one of Australia’s most awarded artists, over a stunning three course dinner prepared by Peter Crompton at The River restaurant in Moruya. Wendy’s awards include the Sulman Prize, Portia Geach Memorial Award, and the Archibald Prize.

Artist in Converstaion: Graham Fransella at The Sandbar

Meet award-winning figurative and abstract artist Graham Fransella and enjoy an exquisite meal prepared by David Tinker at The Sandbar. Graham has been selected for the Archibald, Wynne, Sulman and Dobell Drawing
prizes and he has five times been awarded the Wynne Trustees Watercolour prize.
