Learn about the sustainable practice of upcycling, and give some cotton comfort denim a second-life.

Working from one of three hat patterns – a 1920s Cloche, a driver’s cap, or a medium brim sun-style hat – you’ll learn which style suits your symmetry and proportions, and how to repurpose denim in this workshop that’s mindful of reducing waste.

Want to give life drawing a go? Whether you’re in line to win the Archibald Prize or have trouble drawing a straight line, this fun workshop is for you.

Artist Ruth Hassell will give you some pointers, then it’s over to you for some arty expression. Bring yourself, some friends, a sketch pad and pencil (or we will supply them) and enjoy a drink at the Tavern while you draw.

Life models will be dressed in vintage style, beginners and all skill levels welcome.

Learn how to create felt objects with a ‘cracked earth’ appearance. This interesting technique uses masking tape and can create unique effects on 2D and 3D pieces.

Like any work of art, we can learn about the culture they came from by looking at how they were made, who made them, and their style. What was important at the time? Who were they made for? What space did they inhabit?

This exhibition features chairs from the Museum’s collection combined with stories about their owners providing an unusual glimpse into Moruya’s history.
