An Open Studio is when an artist opens their creative workspace to visitors, providing a unique opportunity for arts patrons to meet with artists, see them at work, and purchase works directly.
A festival favourite, Open Studios will once again be a highlight of the River of Art program in 2019.
This year, Open Studios is coordinated by Eurobodalla Council’s Arts and Culture team.
If you’re interested in participating and opening your studio up during the 2019 River of Art festival, now’s the time to apply!
In 2019, the River of Art festival runs from Friday 17 to Monday 27 May.
You are invited to open your studio for any or all of these dates. Monday 27 May is a public holiday in Canberra, so may like to keep your studio open to take advantage of the long weekend visitors.
To apply, email Eurobodalla Council’s Coordinator of Creative Arts Development, Indi Carmichael, and include:
- an image of your work
- your studio information in the following format:
- your name
- your address
- a one sentence blurb about your work
- the dates and times during the festival that your studio will be open. (Please try to keep this as simple as possible).
- specify if your studio is also open by appointment
- your phone number for appointments
This information will be used in the River of Art brochure, website and promotion in the lead up and during the festival.
It is the responsibility of participating artists to ensure appropriate public liability insurance coverage. Council will not take responsibility for injuries, damage to property or any event resulting in an insurance claim as a result of inviting the general public into your studio.
